REX WAX PURPLE KICK

Don’t let its bright purple color fool you—this wax is specially formulated for conditions just below freezing. It provides dependable grip and consistent glide when the snow hovers around the melting point.

In racing applications, it’s often used as a cover layer over Green PowerGrip wax, while recreational skiers appreciate it as a reliable all-around choice for near-zero temperatures.

How to Apply Rex Hard Grip Waxes

1. Prepare the ski base: Mask off both ends of the kick zone.

2. Lightly roughen the grip zone using 100-grit sandpaper to help the wax adhere.

3. Clean the surface by wiping away any dust or residue with paper.

4. Apply a thin layer of base wax, warm it with a hot air gun or waxing iron, and smooth it using a synthetic cork.

5. Add the Purple Special wax suited for the snow and temperature conditions. Spread an even, thin coat and smooth with synthetic cork.

6. Repeat 2–4 layers depending on the ski’s kick chamber and snow hardness.

7. Remove masking tape and your skis are ready to hit the trail.
